Electronic funds transfer fee
We charge £30 to cover our costs in sending your loan funds to your solicitor.
Buildings insurance
You must have buildings insurance.
Duplicate mortgage statement
Every January we send a statement to all our mortgage customers free of charge. If you want any duplicates, we charge £20 for each annual statement.
References for second charges
We charge £75 for giving a second charge reference to another lender. (A second charge is where your main mortgage is with The Nottingham and you get an extra loan, also secured on the property, from another lender).
References to other lenders
We charge £75 for giving a reference about your mortgage account to another lender.
Sale of part of the security
If you want to sell part of your mortgage security (usually this is part of the land), we need to check that there will still be enough security to cover the mortgage after the sale. We charge a fee of £100 to cover our costs in considering your application.
Transfer of title
If you ask us to change the names your mortgage is held in, we charge £145. This covers our administration costs for considering your application and approving the transfer arrangements. You will also need to use a solicitor and you should check with them about how much they will charge.
Providing information from your title deeds
We will charge a fee of £15 to cover the administrative costs involved in searching for and supplying either an extract or specific information, eg boundary responsibilities, that you have asked for. If you ask us for a full copy of your title deeds, we will charge you a fee of £25.
Additional redemption statements
Per statement £25.
Unpaid Direct Debit
If a Direct Debit for your mortgage payments is returned unpaid by your bank, we will charge you £15. We may re-present a Direct Debit, which will incur a further charge if unpaid again.
Unpaid cheques
If you pay a cheque into your mortgage account and the bank returns it unpaid, we will charge you £15.
Contacting you if you fall behind with your mortgage payments
We charge a £28 administration fee every time we have to contact you if you fall behind with your mortgage payments.
If you make special payment arrangements with us for a limited period and stick to them, we will stop making this charge.
If you do not stick to the special payment arrangement we reached with you, we will charge a £33 administration fee for contacting you again.
Financial counselling
We charge up to £100 to cover the costs of an independent financial counsellor visiting you at your home to discuss your mortgage and other debt repayments. They also advise on special payment arrangements that may be available to repay or prevent a payment shortfall.
Taking legal action for possession of a property
We charge £85 to cover our costs in obtaining information and preparing to issue a county court claim for possession of a property. There will be further charges to cover work involved in obtaining and enforcing an Order for Possession of the mortgaged property. Our solicitor's costs and the court fees must also be paid by you.
Taking possession of a property
We will charge £300 to cover our costs if we have to take possession of the property. You will also have to pay all other costs of securing and selling the mortgaged property, for example estate agents and solicitors conveyancing costs.
Notes to fees and charges
These charges are subject to increase from time to time.
If you have a mortgage with us and we introduce new charges, or increase existing charges, or change to your disadvantage the way you will have to pay charges, we will tell you about the change at least 14 days before it takes place, either by letter or other personal notice, or by a general notice in our branches and principal office, together with press advertisements.
