At the start of June 2023, we welcomed two new field-based BDMs to The Nottingham, continuing our plans to significantly grow our talented sales team.
The appointment of Avril Dugdale to cover the North East and Rachel Bridle to cover the South, takes us to a total of eight BDMs – five field-based and three telephone BDMs.
At the start of 2023, we had an excellent team of knowledgeable, committed staff across our BDM, Mortgage Desk and Underwriting teams. And while it was a great foundation, The Nottingham is on an exciting journey to build on our mortgage proposition and ensure we’re meeting the ever-changing needs of our borrowers and brokers.
To do that we knew it was essential to grow the sales team and ensure we’re providing you with the best possible service. 100% of our new business continues to be through brokers so you really are at the heart of everything we do.
PROVIDING A PERSONALISED, TAILORED SERVICE
With our new crack team, we’ll be able to provide a personalised, tailored service and we’re committed to meeting as many brokers as possible face-to-face. Whether that’s for a quick coffee, a visit to the office or attending a team meeting to provide an update on who we are and what we do.
It's also clear, however, that the BDM role has evolved since the COVID pandemic and we’re always exploring new ways of communicating our message to suit brokers, such as online video content available on demand, webinars, events and criteria masterclasses.
We understand the importance of being easy to contact so we’ve also recruited more telephony BDMs and we believe this hybrid approach is the best fit to help meet the needs of our brokers. Along with the fact that we provide direct access to our underwriters, this should mean that whether you have a general question about our criteria or a query about a specific case, you can get the answer you need in one quick phone call.
WE'RE NOT STOPPING THERE!
We’ve already seen the benefit this has provided and we’re hoping to be able to announce the recruitment of further telephone-based BDMs in the coming months. We’re also looking at how best to engage with mortgage clubs and networks to ensure we’re making the most of these important relationships.
